Broadband network could bring 200 jobs to Dundee
As many as 200 jobs could be made available in Dundee when Fibrecity Holdings installs a broadband network in the area, according to the Courier.
This will be the first time the internet product - which can support as much as 100 Mbps of data - has been taken to Scotland, the news provider reported.
Director of Fibrecity Dundee Paul Lennox told the information source that the company had already established itself within an office in the region.
More than 200 jobs will be created by the project, he promised, 90 of which will be recruited for by Fujitsu - the subcontractors for the construction phase.
The building roles will include supervisory staff, engineers and planners, he noted, while the development is scheduled for completion in 18 months.
Fibrecity Holdings is part of the i3 Group and recently installed its open access network in Bournemouth.
In the town, three service providers have taken on the network and are offering speeds from 25 Mbps to 100 Mbps.
