CVs tailored toward jobs 'more likely to be successful'
By tailoring CVs to the role being applied for, people seeking jobs may have more success, one expert has suggested.
Keith Potts, chief executive of Jobsite.co.uk, urged those looking for work to be targeted in their approach to searching for employment.
"Make clear on your covering letter/application/CV that you have the skills and experience that the job requires," he advised.
"It may take a bit of extra time, but will be worth it."
His comments follow research from outsourcing firm MyWorkSearch, which found that more than a third of jobseekers have applied for over 100 positions but as many as 32 per cent had achieved only one interview or had never been seen at all.
Applying for that quantity of roles is not worth it, Mr Potts argued, explaining that it had the potential to not only waste the time of the person looking for employment but could annoy employers and recruitment consultants too.
