E-recruitment 'more and more popular' in Ireland
More and more firms in Northern Ireland are using e-recruitment methods when it comes to hiring new staff, it has been found.
The Monster Employment Index noted that there was a peak in the use of online advertising in the country during September and overall there has been a 23 per cent year-on-year increase, Recruiter noted.
The credit crunch and businesses attempting to cut back on spending could be part of the reason for this, Sara McKinty, managing director of financial recruiter Sellick Partnership, believes.
She explained that companies are now looking to new recruitment methods rather than traditional ways of advertising.
Likewise, Reggie Patel, managing director of Kennedy Recruitment, said: "Employers are doing most of their job advertising themselves, using online methods."
Speaking to Personnel Today, Marco Bertozzi, director media and digital at TMP Worldwide, said that job seekers can spend as much as 35 per cent of their time surfing the internet, so online recruitment is a good way to attract their attention.
