Expert praises 'good' recruitment agencies

29/10/2008

A good recruitment agency can add "expertise" for those looking to find potential candidates for job vacancies, it has been claimed.

Speaking to Recruiter, Marina Aldridge, head of resourcing and recruitment at the Audit Commission, said that recruiters should use their imagination when it comes to finding applicants.

Ms Aldridge explained that a useful agency is "one that steers you to the people you are looking for" as well as having "good networks that they can draw on".

She added that a bad agency is one where there is a lack of imagination, meaning job adverts are repetitive and any CVs received indiscriminately are simply passed on to employers.

Using the internet to look for jobs was found to be increasingly popular this week, as Recruiter reported on research from the Institute for Employment Studies and Department for Work and Pensions which revealed that 37 per cent of people found their current job online.
