Future economy 'will require graduates'

11/09/2009

The future economy of the UK will require more people educated to degree level, one employment expert has stated.

Johnny Rich, editor of Push.co.uk, said that the UK will not only need more graduates but will also need to continue to train and help people throughout their careers in order to provide companies with flexible staff who are able to perform the requirements for high-tech firms.

He commented: "The future economy of the UK will require as many graduates as possible."

Furthermore, he added that "it will be much easier for us to climb back out of the recession if we have a well educated workforce".

According to the recent Doing Better for Children report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation, to give every child the chance of a better future, the government should continue to spend more on younger children and target spending on older children more effectively.
