HR expert discusses future of online recruitment

13/01/2009

A human resources (HR) expert has spoken out about why she believes online recruitment is the future of hiring for businesses.

Speaking to Personnel Today, Donna Miller, the European HR manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, said that there is likely to be a shift in advertising as employers move away from traditional newspapers.

She believes that employers need to get out of the habit of using the platform for recruitment as the internet could be more effective.

"Online advertising is trackable, gives you good understanding of your return on investment and allows you to score some brownie points with finance," Ms Miller stated.

Furthermore, she predicts that many companies may have to cut their recruitment budgets in 2009.

In related news, HR Zone recently reported that outsourcing recruitment to an online recruitment agency could save firms a lot of money during the recession.
