Job agencies experiencing influx of jobseekers

Some recruitment agencies have found they need to hire extra staff to cope with demand as more people are singing up to their services, it has been reported.

It is thought that an increasing number of redundancies and further fears over job losses in the UK are contributing to the influx, according to Recruiter.

Now agencies are hoping that having more members of staff will help them to deal with candidates more effectively as consultants are free to concentrate on finding placements

Tim Asti, director of professional and technical recruitment in the UK and Northern Ireland for Kelly Services, said: "The real skill is getting the recruiters to understand the needs of the applicant."

Earlier this week, the latest figures from the Monster Employment Index were published and they revealed that online recruitment is still strong in some sectors such as education and healthcare.
