Job seekers encouraged to perfect interview skills

22/12/2008

Jobseekers should make sure they have good job hunting and interview skills as these may be vital to helping them find employment, it has been suggested.

According to Interviewgold.com, people must "prepare thoroughly" for all parts of the job hunting process as this will put them in a better position when it comes to securing a position.

Joe McDermott, chief executive officer of Interviewgold.com, said people are having difficulties finding employment "based on what's actually happening in the job market, where you’ve got certain sectors shrinking, for example the banking and finance sector and customer services".

In a recent press release, Kevin Green, chief executive officer of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), claimed that recruitment professionals will be helping an increasing number of people find jobs in the current months.

Furthermore, there are around 300,000 unfilled vacancies in the UK, according to the REC.
