Job sites need to attract passive jobseekers, expert advises
Online recruitment websites should be doing more to attract passive jobseekers, one industry expert has discussed.
Writing about the issue for Onrec.com, Steve Evans from Mediafigures.co.uk stated that there are still increasing numbers of people turning to the internet to look for work.
However, because of the recession the most talented individuals will be "happy to stay where they are, unless directly approached".
Therefore, Mr Evans believes recruitment websites need to take a more active approach to attracting those who may not be looking for work.
"Any decent headhunt business will point out that a lot of good talent will not be looking as actively as before for fear of the unknown in this current climate," he continued.
Research carried out by Network HR recently revealed that although 81 per cent of professionals say their firm has been affected by the economic downturn, 51 per cent still feel secure in their job.
