Jobseekers should 'look for support from recruitment agencies'

As job vacancies become increasingly scarce due to the UK's struggling economy, traditional and online recruitment agencies could give jobseekers the extra boost needed when it comes to finding employment.

In the opinion of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), agencies can provide help and support to those who cannot find work.

The organisation claims that they offer guidance as well as regular updates about what is happening in the market and which are the best sectors to consider looking into.

REC director of external affairs Tom Hadley said: "These are things that recruitment agencies can help you with. The guidance element is an important one."

He also added that: "[Recruitment agencies] help you find out about where the opportunities are."

The November Report on Jobs, released monthly, yesterday revealed that there has been a record rise in candidate availability coupled with falls in permanent and temporary staff appointments.
