Jobseekers urged to take caution with CVs
Jobseekers are being urged to take caution when sending their CVs out for job vacancies as criminals can easily use them to commit identity fraud, Onrec.com reports.
According to iProfile.org, using online recruitment agencies may be one way to tackle this problem as they are much safer.
A recent experiment by the company saw 107 people email job applications for a fake vacancy, the website for which revealed that the company was false to anyone who took the time to do any research.
Rick Bacon, chief executive officer of iProfile.org, said: "We were shocked to find that 68 per cent of people sent their CV into our fake job advert without doing any background checks first.
He also encouraged jobseekers to use online recruitment websites rather than setting up their own page to host a CV as "this can expose them to identity fraud".
Last month, Recruiter reported that jobseekers are increasingly using the internet to look for work, especially those looking for a change of career.
