Online recruitment benefits from new email system
Jobseekers using online recruitment sites may benefit from an email delivery system which has proved to be effective for one agency.
StrongMail Systems' Email Marketing Server has increased the recruitment firm's email delivery rates by 99 per cent and has also helped with administration issues, Onrec, com reports.
Mark Ridley, director of technology at reed.co.uk, said this is important as it improves the service given to those looking for employment because email is the "primary mode of communication" to an "enormous database of job seekers".
He also detailed the functions it can be used for, which include "notification of potential job opportunities, interview confirmations, site registration emails and password reminders".
According to Personnel Today, the government could soon start using text messages as a way to inform jobseekers about employment opportunities in its departments.
