Online recruitment 'popular amongst senior staff'
Many managers now look for new jobs or more senior positions using the internet, it has been found.
Therefore companies are urged to change their recruitment habits and go online to find new members of staff, according to Recruiter.
Research by the Institute for Employment Studies and Department for Work and Pensions, found that 72 per cent of managers said they were more likely to use online job searches with 76 per cent saying they focus specifically on online job adverts.
Adapting to this behaviour could mean that firms cast their recruitment nets wider and potentially have more choice about who they hire.
Jo Causon, director, marketing and corporate affairs at the Chartered Management Institute, said: "Clearly a concern for employers should be about how to avoid wasting the impressive talent pool that exists in the UK."
Online recruitment has become more popular among some companies, including financial firm LV=Liverpool Victoria, which announced it will increasingly be using the internet to hire staff, according to Computer Weekly.
