REC: Agencies help match candidates to the right jobs

Those looking for employment may want to consider using an online recruitment site to find a job as agencies can often offer a great deal of assistance, it has been suggested.

In the opinion of Anne Fairweather, head of public policy at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, jobseekers sometimes attend interviews and get a good impression of a company.

However, when they begin working for the organisation it ends up not being what they hoped for, leading to job disappointment.

This is where agencies come in, as Ms Fairweather added: "Recruitment agencies are often better placed at matching a candidate to a company as an individual left on their own may not know enough about that company."

Another issue currently on many employees' minds is the credit crunch, as a new study from Friends Provident has revealed that many are sleeping less and worrying more.
