Recession may provide more candidates for employers, website claims
Employers may be set to benefit from increased numbers of jobseekers during the recession, it has been claimed.
In the opinion of Employee Benefit News, there are now more people looking for work because of the number of redundancies and job cuts currently taking place.
Therefore, any firms which are looking to hire new staff have a higher number of applicants and a wider range of talent and skills form which to choose.
A survey by Dice Holdings recently found that seven out of 10 managers reported an increase in the number of job candidates.
Chief executive officer of the company Scot Melland said that "there are companies that are indeed hiring and they [need to] be able to acquire talented professionals at advantageous salary levels".
According to Mittel, companies which use online recruitment may be more attractive to younger jobseekers as many are keen to work for companies which employ the use of technology, PC World reported.
