Recruitment vacancies 'set to increase'
The number of vacancies seen by recruitment professionals for both permanent and temporary jobs is likely to continue to increase over the coming months, one area expert has claimed.
Cheryl Morgan, spokesperson for Jobsite, said the return of jobs to the market has been cautious in recent months, but there will likely be steady growth as the year progresses.
She commented: "The key thing for any organisation is to track the effectiveness of their different recruitment methods. They should know where the most relevant applications come from."
According to a report from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG, permanent staff placements continued to rise strongly in April, albeit at a slower pace than in March.
It showed that the growth of permanent vacancies was just marginally weaker than February's 31-month high, while temporary/contract staff vacancies increased at the sharpest rate since January 2008.
