SMEs urged to consider online recruitment

Recruitment is an important aspect of running a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) as the presence of individuals is strongly felt, it has been claimed.

The Times reports that using recruitment agencies may be a good way for SMEs to find staff as it can often be a lengthy and costly process.

Furthermore, it can also bring them to the attention of jobseekers who may previously have overlooked a smaller company.

Scott Russell, director of CPH Consulting, said: "They don't have large brand names or reputations that attract the best candidates for jobs."

Martyn Hart, chairman of the National Outsourcing Association, further advised the managers of SMEs to "put in the effort upfront to choose the outsourcer carefully".

Recently, Alex Farrell, managing director of the IT Job Board, claimed that the face of job hunting in the UK is being changed by online recruitment agencies.
