UK businesses 'missing out on overseas recruitment'
International talent is being shunned by UK businesses that do not have enough strategies in place to recruit from overseas, it has been claimed.
As companies become more global and people increasingly seek work in a variety of countries, the UK is falling short on recruits from abroad, a report from Penna International Operations says.
Figures show that eight out of 10 businesses had problems with the differing recruiting styles between countries, and only a fifth had put in place international-friendly recruitment strategies.
Penna's managing director Diana Haddad said: "Organisations should choose a recruitment partner who can manage their whole international strategy", Management Issues reported.
She warned that companies that fail to recruit from abroad and accommodate cultural differences risk "eliminating top talent from joining their organisations".
According to advisors Learndirect, the most popular areas for overseas workers are London, East Anglia and the Midlands with the most popular sectors including business, management, administration and hospitality.
