West London residential scheme to generate jobs in construction

Proposals for a west London residential project have received local authority backing and could help to fuel local construction recruitment . Hammersmith & Fulham council has given Capital & Counties Properties (Capco) permission to proceed with its £300 million plans to redevelop a 7.5-acre car park serving the Earl's Court exhibition centre into 808 new homes. Construction work on this scheme - which will comprise multi-storey flats and town houses surrounding a public garden square - will start after October 2012 and is expected to take place in four phases over five years.
