'Work ethic improves' with good office design

03/04/2008

A survey of employees has revealed that work ethic could be boosted by good office design.

Metro Design Consultants found that 49 per cent of workers believe productivity levels would be boosted by an office makeover.

In fact, 43 per cent feel their current office environment is an embarrassment to the company.

And staff morale and retention levels would also increase if the workplace was refurbished, the respondents said.

Daniel Taylor, Managing Director of Metro Design Consultants, warned employers that an office can say a lot about the professionalism of a company.

He stated: "A thoughtfully-designed space, with attention to the ergonomic details, will no doubt rub off on employees, helping to make them more proficient and hence more valuable to the business."

Companies such as Ernst & Young, Lloyds TSB, Adobe, KPMG and Nickelodeon are all clients of Metro Design Consultants.
