Young people going online for jobs, survey reveals
A new survey has revealed that more young people may be turning to the internet to help them find jobs.
Research conducted by Bernard Hodes Group found that 89 per cent of people between the ages of 16 and 29 go on social networking sites at least once a week.
Furthermore, 47 per cent said they are now considering them as an option when it comes to researching jobs and finding employment.
Shannon Seery Gude, vice president of digital and an expert on social media at Bernard Hodes Group, believes that going online to recruit can also have benefits for employers.
"Having a strong online presence also allows companies to lend a critical eye to their brand messaging and discover key attributes through the virtual conversations," she said.
Alex Farrell, managing director of the IT Job Board, recently stated that online recruitment sites are "changing the face of recruitment".
